Join us for a weekend of birding at the Audubon Pine Island Sanctuary and surrounding area.

- Dates: Friday to Sunday, February 9-11, 2018.
- Leaders: David Anderson, Vern Bothwell, Norm Budnitz
- Cost: A donation of $50 to New Hope Audubon Society. Participants can stay at the Sanctuary for $30 per bed per night ($60 total). Rooms are double occupancy. (For people who want a single room, there is a Hampton Inn located nearby.) Participants are also responsible for their own food and transportation.

- Tentative itinerary, subject to change depending on weather:
Friday, 2/9: Drive to the Outer Banks (carpooling recommended, lunch on your own); 2:00 PM, meet at Duck boardwalk for birding in the afternoon; check in at Pine Island Sanctuary and bird in the area later in the afternoon; dinner at a local restaurant.
Saturday, 2/10: Breakfast (bring your own food, full kitchen available for cooking); small boat excursions in shifts through Sanctuary waterways with concurrent land birding in the area; lunch (bring your own); Currituck National Estuarine Reserve for bird walk through diverse habitats; time permitting, walk on the beach, go to Currituck Heritage Park to bird, or to lighthouse and museum; dinner at a local restaurant.
Sunday, 2/11: Breakfast (bring your own); pack; various options–bird walk at Pine Island, birding at Currituck National Wildlife Refuge, and/or birding at Nags Head Woods (an old growth maritime forest); lunch on your own and head for home.
